Dylan Blomker, a highly-touted right-handed pitcher from La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is gearing up for a series of high-profile summer events that could significantly impact his professional baseball career.
Blomker, an LSU commit who recently helped the Tigers win the national championship in June, will begin his senior year classes next week. However, his focus is on the upcoming events, which include the 2025 PG 17U WWBA National Championship in North Palm Beach and Albuquerque, as well as the 23rd annual Dick's All-American Classic at Petco Park in San Diego from August 15-17, 2025.
These events are critical showcases attracting top MLB draft prospects and scouts, providing Blomker significant exposure ahead of the 2026 MLB Draft. As a Day 1 MLB draft prospect with a fastball velocity of 92-94 mph and an advanced slider, Blomker's performances in these events could elevate his draft stock, potentially influencing whether he signs professionally out of high school or opts for college baseball at LSU.

He was not ranked in anything during his freshman year but has since climbed the ranks, currently sitting at 55th nationally and 12th among pitchers by Perfect Game. The Area Code Games, a gathering of the country's top prep talent, attended by scouts from all 30 Major League Baseball franchises, is one of the events on his schedule this month.
Blomker's decision next summer could be between going to Baton Rouge or turning professional. LSU has a history of selecting talented players from New Mexico, such as Alex Bregman from Albuquerque Academy and Steven Milam from Centennial High. The Tigers even had Kade Anderson, a recent LSU player, as the No. 3 overall pick in this year's draft.
There is a slight chance USA Baseball may invite Blomker back to North Carolina for the second stage if one of the selected pitchers drops out. A final cut later this month for the USA Baseball team precedes a trip to Japan at the end of August.
In addition to the events mentioned, Blomker also has the MLB High School All-American Game (Aug. 12) scheduled this month.
