A new spin-off series featuring Rick and Morty is on the horizon.
In a thrilling turn of events, Adult Swim has announced a new spin-off series for the beloved animated series "Rick and Morty." The new show, titled "President Curtis," will premiere on Cartoon Network's late-night programming block, Adult Swim.
At the heart of the story are the familiar characters, eccentric scientist Rick Sanchez (voiced by Justin Roiland) and his shy grandson Morty. However, the focus shifts to a new protagonist: President Andre Curtis, a character who has been a fan favourite since the original series premiered on Cartoon Network in December 2013.
President Curtis, played by Keith David, is no stranger to handling wild sci-fi challenges. In the spin-off, he leads missions that Rick Sanchez chooses to ignore, showcasing his ability to rival Rick while holding office. The series will delve into interdimensional diplomacy, paranormal investigations, and unexplained phenomena, maintaining the sci-fi, humor, and adventurous tone of the original series.
The creative minds behind "President Curtis" include Dan Harmon, co-creator of "Rick and Morty," along with James Siciliano, Stephanie Beatriz, and Jim Rash. Harmon and Siciliano will serve as showrunners, ensuring a continuation of the show's originality, creativity, and sense of humor that has earned it extremely high critical acclaim, including more than 15 different awards.
Stephanie Beatriz and Jim Rash, who voices a new half-leprechaun character, will also join the voice cast. The show promises to be a wild ride, with President Curtis's unique perspective on science fiction stories.
