Set sail on an exhilarating voyage to Tanzania, where the extraordinary landscapes and mesmerizing wildlife await, in the fantastical ship, "Savage Waves".
Following us on this outrageous adventure are an illustrious duo, Felix Staudinger and Justus Erbrecht, heads of an eccentric photography club. Their deep camaraderie always takes a back seat during the annual competition for the ultimate photograph, showcasing their undeniable competitive spirit.
Onboard this wild ride are Robin Schmelting and her husband Kai, fleeing the memory of the late Herbert Frohme's will reading. Having abandoned their father years ago due to his questionable decisions, such as displacing them to an elite German boarding school following their mother's passing, revisiting the past isn't high on their list of priorities. Yet, Robin hopes to salvage her dwindling marriage, while Kai is abusively ensnared in an affair with Larissa, the alluring young hairdresser unaware of her upcoming stint aboard the ship.
An agonizing reunion awaits Robin, as her brother Steffen also embarks on the voyage. The siblings were inseparable until Robin chose Kai over her childhood sweetheart Jörg, generating a rift between them. To add to the tension, Steffen's financial straits force him to consider a desperate solution: selling a kilo of rhino horn on the black market. Within this untamed environment, the sibling duo faces an unprecedented challenge that will either strengthen their bond or shatter it completely.
Joining the motley crew is ambitious young officer Florian Barner, whose rocky dreams extend far beyond the conning tower. Unlike Captain Victor Burger's elevated aspirations for him, Florian's heart beats rhythmically to the notes played by the band he founded with fellow crewmates. Edging ever closer to the enormity of his decision, Florian remains patiently unspoken regarding his intention to abandon ship and discover his dreams full-throttle.
When the ship's sidekick, cruise director Schifferle, hears the band rehearsing outside of duty hours, he's captivated and quickly offers them a spotlight at the upcoming gala. With this electrifying opportunity resting at his fingertips, Florian is compelled to face the truth about his future aboard the ship.
