A man in Lucknow hacked his pregnant wife's hands, resulting in her tragic death and the loss of two lives.
Tragedy Strikes Lucknow Family During Vishwakarma Puja
In a shocking turn of events, a double murder and the loss of an unborn child has left a family in Lucknow reeling. The victim, 22-year-old Neelam Lodhi, was eight months pregnant when she was brutally attacked during the Vishwakarma Puja at her home.
According to reports, Neelam was attacked with a cleaver, resulting in the severing of both her hands. Her cries for help were met with silence as her husband, Ankur Lodhi, aged 24, allegedly grabbed her and tied her to a pole. Neelam's unborn child and her mother-in-law, Phoolmati Lodhi, were also attacked during the incident.
Neelam was declared dead at KGMU Trauma Centre, while Phoolmati is currently undergoing treatment. Tragically, Neelam's unborn child did not survive the attack.
Ankur Lodhi has been arrested by the police and booked under BNS sections 103(1) for murder, 109(1) for attempt to murder, and relevant provisions of the Arms Act. The murder weapon was recovered by the police.
Ankur Lodhi's violent outburst during a quarrel with his wife has left the family and the community in shock. Neelam, described as always helpful and always smiling by Ankur's father, Dinesh Lodhi, was a beloved member of the community.
The family, which was eagerly anticipating the baby's arrival, is now struggling to cope with the double tragedy. Preparations for the baby's arrival had already begun, but those plans have been cruelly dashed.
Chandni Lodhi, Neelam's sister-in-law, ran out for help during the attack, while Phoolmati tried to intervene but was also attacked. Ankur Lodhi threatened everyone with the cleaver after the attack.
It is reported that Ankur Lodhi is a habitual drinker, and the attack occurred during a verbal spat between the couple during the Vishwakarma puja at their home. A doctor treating Phoolmati stated that Neelam had only a few weeks left before delivery.
