A male individual allegedly took the life of a painter in Delhi, the authorities suspect that the murder was fueled by jealousy due to the assumption that the painter was involved with the murderer's spouse.
In a shocking turn of events in Delhi, two men have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a 35-year-old house painter named Rakesh. The accused, 47-year-old Vanketesh alias Raja and 25-year-old Gaurav alias Mulli, stand accused of killing Rakesh due to a suspected illicit affair and unpaid debt.
Rakesh's body was discovered on Surajkund Road on July 11 by a local banana vendor. The police received a PCR call about an unconscious man near the Karni Singh Shooting Range. Extensive CCTV footage from MB Road, Surajkund Road, and Sangam Vihar, along with inquiries with residents and passersby, helped identify the victim. A fingerprint match from the Rampura Fingerprint Bureau confirmed the identity of the deceased as Rakesh.
The investigation led to the arrest of Raja and Gaurav. It was reported that Raja, who has a prior arrest under the Excise Act, lent money to Rakesh on several occasions, which was never repaid. In a horrifying turn of events, Rakesh was brutally beaten at Raja's residence in Madangir using a plastic rod, belt, punches, and kicks. His head was slammed against a wall.
After the assault, the accused transported the body in an auto-rickshaw and dumped it near the Karni Singh Shooting Range to avoid detection. A raid at Raja's residence in Madangiri led to the recovery of an eyewitness, Ritik Diwakar alias Cheeta. During interrogation, Gaurav disclosed that Rakesh was beaten by Vanketesh at his residence.
Gaurav has a previous case under the Arms Act registered at the Ambedkar Nagar police station, while Raja has a case registered under the Excise Act. A case under sections 103(1) (murder) and 238(a) (causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of the BNS has been registered at the Pul Prahladpur police station.
