The Canadian Grand Prix was a nail-biting affair with strategies and suspense galore. In the end, it was George Russell on pole who took the checkered flag for Mercedes. The two championship contenders, however, collided, and the blame fell squarely on Lando Norris.

Lando Norris Under the Pump: After taking the blame for the "booboo" crash with teammate Oscar Piastri, Norris admitted he was "relieved" he hadn't ruined Piastri's race too. The collision underscored the Brit's tendency to make mistakes in high-pressure situations. No such incidents should be occurring in the thick of the championship clash.

Piastri's Philosophical Response: Piastri took it all in stride. "He apologized for the collision," said the Australian. After all, he secured a fourth-place finish, which strengthened his championship position. However, team principal Andrea Stella had some harsh words initially. "We never want to see McLarens tangling. That's a cardinal rule for us," remarked the Italian. Yet, he acknowledged Norris's lack of malicious intent.

George Russell Shines: The Briton stole the show driving like he was born for the Silver Arrow. This win marked a flawless start-to-finish performance, giving team principal Toto Wolff compelling reasons for a contract extension (with better terms, of course). Russell is on fire this season, but he remains grounded. "We're enjoying it; time will tell what's in store," sighed the 27-year-old. His Silver Arrow seems to love cool conditions like Montreal, but he needed to convert his second consecutive pole in Montreal into a win on Sunday. Mission accomplished with a triumph.

Kimi Antonelli Makes History: After only ten races in Formula One, the 18-year-old Italian stood on the podium, becoming the third youngest driver to do so. "This was a stressful experience, but I'm just extremely happy," said the young racer on RTL. Despite a pointless streak in the last three races, he made a strong comeback by outsmarting Pierre Gasly and Sergio Perez in the final stages to secure a double podium for Mercedes. Even his father Marco, who travels with him to races worldwide, couldn't contain his excitement: "Speechless, it's just superb."

Max Verstappen in a Predicament: The world champion started carefully in his Red Bull, maintaining a safe distance from pole-sitter Russell throughout the race. With an impending race ban looming, Verstappen seemed to hold back a bit. Nevertheless, he displayed an impeccable performance, yet it lacked the element of surprise. He collected valuable points and is only 43 points behind leader Piastri, 21 points behind Norris. He just needs to stay clean in the next race in Spielberg, and two penalty points will expire.

Nico Hulkenberg to the Rescue: The German ruthlessly exploited the mistakes of his rivals in the midfield to secure eighth place and four points. Hulkenberg managed his tires well and claimed that fellow driver Franco Colapinto had a heated spat with Alex Albon in lap one. The Sauber team is now filled with hope after their new underbody from Spain proved successful in Canada, promising more top 10 finishes. "I'm basking in the moment. Tomorrow, it's New York, and a bit of a celebration," lumined the 37-year-old.
