A firehouse encountered water damage.
The small town of Hörzhausen recently welcomed a group of young visitors to its new fire station. Seventeen children, aged between three and ten, were given an informative tour of the station, showcasing its latest equipment and resources.
Accompanied by their parents, the children were given the opportunity to see the emergency vehicle up close. Firefighters demonstrated how the equipment is arranged for quick access, explaining their roles during different types of emergencies. The visit was both educational and engaging, giving the children a firsthand look at the dedication and technology involved in maintaining public safety.
During the tour, Commander Roman Heigl guided the children and their parents through the fire station, explaining in detail how various tools and devices are used during emergency situations. He highlighted their importance in rescue operations and fire safety.
One of the highlights of the visit was when the children were allowed to play with a small pump. This hands-on experience added to the excitement and understanding of the equipment's purpose.
The visit concluded with the children being treated to pretzels and ice cream, a sweet ending to an educational and memorable day.
It is worth noting that during the second visit, Commander Heigl did not explain the equipment to the children. However, he was present at the visit, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young explorers.
The Hörzhausen fire station, located in the heart of the town, did not welcome any new groups of children after the initial visit. A photo of the visit, taken by local photographer Fritz Endres, serves as a reminder of this unique educational experience.
The visit to the Hörzhausen fire station provided these young visitors with a valuable insight into the world of emergency services, fostering a sense of community and safety in the process.
