A dramatic conclusion to the Harburger Shooters' competition
In the heart of Harburg, the Heimfelder Schützenverein is gearing up for its annual Schützenheimfeld Finale, scheduled from August 23 to August 25. The event will take place at Heimfelder Straße 120, promising an exciting three days of festivities and competitions.
The event will welcome a diverse crowd, including friendly shooters from Eißendorf and Marmstorf, as well as familiar faces from local politics. Notably, the consort of the reigning queen, Chris Peglow, will also be in attendance.
For the younger attendees, a children's festival in the festival tent will begin on Saturday, August 22, at 3:30 pm. Children aged 3 to 12 are invited, with each receiving a prize.
The main events kick off on Sunday, August 23. At 10 am, a reception of the guests of honour and festival meal will take place. Following this, the shooting of the young shooters on the bird and the shooting on the large bird and targets will commence at 8 am.
At 8 pm on the same day, the proclamation of the new shooting kings will take place in front of the shooting stand. The evening will then continue with a festival ball in the festival tent, offering free admission.
Sarah Moysen, crowned in 2023 as "the Unyielding", is the reigning queen of the Heimfelder Schützenverein. Her highlight of the year was her own coronation ball in February, particularly the collected donations for the German Children's Rheumatism Foundation. Regional and national coronation balls were also special events for Queen Moysen.
Assisting Queen Moysen are her adjutants, Vera Lünsmann, Caro Kabuse, and Nadine Gruschwitz.
Highlights of the program include a grand military tattoo, scheduled for Friday, August 21, at 9 pm in front of the Friedrich-Ebert Hall. On Saturday, August 22, at 8 pm, the proclamation of the new vice-kings will take place, followed by the "Summer Beats Party" with DJ Crazy Paddy. Tickets for the party cost ten euros, including three euros for refreshments.
The "donations instead of flowers" initiative, appreciated by Queen Moysen, is also part of the event.
For the most current and detailed schedule and event highlights, it is recommended to check the official Heimfelder Schützenverein website, regional event calendars, or local community notices.
Football enthusiasts can look forward to enjoying other sports at the Heimfelder Schützenverein's annual Schützenheimfeld Finale, as there might be friendly matches or mini-tournaments scheduled amidst the festivities. Chris Peglow, the consort of the reigning queen, might spare some time to watch a sport he genuinely admires, given his passion for football.
