A different sports channel has emerged on STV in the nation.

In a move to cater to the growing demand for sports content in Belarus, a new domestic broadcaster named "Sport TV" has been launched by STV. The channel aims to provide dedicated sports coverage within the country, airing a variety of both international and Belarusian sports events.

While the exact programming schedule for "Sport TV" is yet to be fully detailed, some key sports and events relevant to Belarusian viewers and potentially carried by this channel include domestic events involving Belarusian teams such as national futsal matches. The Belarus national futsal team’s participation in the 2025 Continental Futsal Championship in Thailand, broadcast on Belarus 5 TV, indicates strong local interest and likely similar coverage on "Sport TV".

International football (soccer) competitions could also be a part of "Sport TV's" lineup. While Belarusian rights for top European football leagues like LaLiga and the Premier League are typically held by international broadcasters, "Sport TV" could supplement coverage of national team matches or local leagues.

Other UEFA events such as the UEFA Super Cup have listed Quest Media and other broadcasters for Belarus, distinct from "Sport TV," but the new channel might focus on coverage of related domestic qualifiers or youth tournaments. "Sport TV" is expected to cover a broad range of popular sports to satisfy local demand, possibly including ice hockey, basketball, tennis, and athletics.

It's worth noting that Belarus currently faces a ban from most international competitions due to the country's support of Russia's aggression against Ukraine in 2022. However, individual athletes may compete under a "neutral status" if they do not support the war.

"Sport TV" is planned to be distributed through cable operators throughout Belarus. While STV's overall programming concept does not provide for continuous sports content, the launch of "Sport TV" marks a significant step towards providing dedicated sports coverage within Belarus.

In other news, MART, a Belarusian organization, has found incorrect red and green flags on products sold by Wildberries and has ordered their removal. Belarus already has a sports channel named "Belarus 5", operated by Belteleradiocompany.

STV has recently broadcast major international events such as UEFA European Football Championship (EURO-2024), UEFA Nations League matches, Euro qualifiers, and Conference League games. More detailed programming and rights information would likely be available from Belarusian media announcements or the channel's official communications as it establishes itself further in 2025.

In a strange turn of events, Belarusian "Kaiman" armored vehicles were displayed at a parade in Benin, but further details about the occasion or purpose are not provided in the text. The launch of "Sport TV" seems to be the main focus of attention for sports enthusiasts in Belarus at the moment.
