A celebratory gathering featuring Lilo Wanders on her birthday

On a Sunday night in Münster, instead of tuning into "Tatort," many locals gather at the Atlantic Hotel for an entirely different show: the Adam Riese Show. This entertaining spectacle has been a staple in the city for 18 years now, with regular performances from the band "Markus Paßlick and his Original Pumpernickel."

As the evening kicks off, the mood is set with a swinging rendition of "Happy Birthday." The crowd is filled with local celebrities like Lisa Feller and illustrator Antje Vogel, there to celebrate the show's milestone anniversary.

Host Adam Riese wastes no time in revealing some personal secrets and setting the tone for the night. He unveils his past as the frontman of a punk band at 16, shocking the audience with the name of his forgotten group: DIE ZURÜCKGEZOGENEN VORHAUPTEN.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! The show assistants Jens Heinrich Claassen and Alice Köfer are always ready to share their own youthful confessions. Jens reminisces about his desperate love for Sabine, who asked him to take a bath together. His response? "No, thanks, I already showered this morning!"

Alice Köfer, hailing from Coesfeld, shares her associations with Münster: "Letting loose!" she exclaims, reflecting the show's lively atmosphere. She also impresses the audience with her effortless trilling of an Icelandic Christmas song, which, when played backwards, results in the familiar melody of "O Tannenbaum."

The show wouldn't be complete without a visit from drag queen and host Lilo Wanders. At over two meters tall, she's not just eye-catching but also full of stories and witty banter. Photos from the past three decades illustrate her colorful life, which includes European success with a provocative and frivolous show in the 90s. Lilo Wanders even recalls that Saddam Hussein once ordered all satellites to be removed from rooftops in Iraq because everyone was watching "True Love," her show.

When asked what she would do differently if she were 18 again, Lilo Wanders doesn't miss a beat. "I wouldn't change a thing - it's been a great life!" she declares before challenging Adam Riese to a quiz, revealing medical facts and a need for a strong cup of coffee.

The finale features a duet between Jens Heinrich Claassen and Alice Köfer, singing a racy version of "Je t'aime." If only Sabine were there to witness it all...
