"I ain't got time to waste," he continued, "This is my thang - the same balls-out attitude you'd take to creating an album, directing, or designing anything, that’s the approach. Give it your all."
Spike Lee unveiled Highest 2 Lowest as a modern remake of the Akira Kurosawa crime drama High and Low, where a young, eager rapper attempts to make a name for himself under Washington's music mogul character.
Elsewhere in the interview, Rocky was nothing short of buzzing at the opportunity to work with Washington, proclaiming it as the "cherry on top" of his career. That being said, he also confessed that keeping his cool during the experience was no walk in the park.
"It was a struggle to not geek out every second," Rocky admitted. "Come on, it's Denzel, you feel me?"
The rapper shared his admiration for Washington's body of work - masking his excitement behind movies like Juice and Malcolm X.
"I ain't never gonna get too big to say I had to keep my cool," he added.
