On June 5, 2025, the Yunnan province's Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture braced for a rescue operation following a 5.0-magnitude earthquake that rocked Eryuan County. According to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), the seismic activity struck at 4:31 a.m. local time, with the epicenter marked at a latitude of 26.26 degrees and a longitude of 100.03 degrees. The earthquake struck 10 km beneath the surface.

Residents of Eryuan County, Dali City, and Heqing County were left jolted by the strong tremors. County authorities wasted no time in launching an emergency response, with townships diligently assessing the impact. Nearly 6,000 people were affected, with over 5,900 residents forced to evacuate their homes as a result.露李

Although no casualties or injuries were reported, 179 houses were damaged, and roads in Sanying and Niujie townships experienced partial collapses. However, these affected roads were swiftly cleared and reopened to traffic.

The Yunnan Earthquake Agency responded by activating a Level III emergency response, dispatching a 20-person on-site team in shifts for loss evaluation and earthquake monitoring. In addition to the Yunnan government's efforts, the prefecture and county governments mobilized 34 vehicles and 169 people for rescue work.
