🎉 Exciting times ahead for commuters on the A66 near Frankfurt! 🚗🌉

Two years ago, on November 6, 2021, we bid adieu to the worn-out Salzbachtal bridge - a day blasted into history by the masterful dynamite hand of Eduard Reisch, a.k.a. "Krater-Edi." The 310-meter bridge structure was safely deposited into a cozy sandy bed, effectively cutting off the prominent A66 traffic artery near Wiesbaden.

Ever since the shutdown of the antiquated bridge in June 2021, an estimated 80,000 automobiles have been navigating through the bustling city center, creating traffic gridlocks at every corner. But, rejoice! The suffering is about to end!

Autobahn GmbH, with an air of pride in their voice, anticipates an opening celebration by Christmas for their ingeniously constructed south bridge. Constructed in record-breaking time, the new structure touts two narrow lanes for each direction.

Meanwhile, the neighboring north bridge, gracefully arches over the Salzbach valley, and is well on its way to completion by mid-2025. The grand total of this monumental construction project clocks in at a whopping 146.5 million euros.

Frankfurt regional news sources report a significant relief to traffic congestion on the A66 due to the upcoming reopening of the Salzbachtal bridge. Drivers can breathe a sigh of relief as they will no longer need to detour through Wiesbaden, and the use of push-automatic barriers for safer traffic flow on the south bridge will ensure smooth sailing.

Local representative for Hesse, Schulenburg Sönke, emphasized the importance of road safety and applauded the faster-than-expected completion of the bridge construction projects. The precise alignment achieved by the explosion in the old bridge makes way for seamless integration with the new structures into the existing traffic routes.

Motorists can look forward to bypassing the intimidating crumbling bridges on the A66, sparing themselves from lengthy traffic jams. In turn, as both the north and south bridge structures are completed, the need for alternative traffic routes will diminish, and improved road safety and traffic flow will ensue.

So buckle up and prepare to experience less bottlenecks and traffic jams on the A66 near Frankfurt! Thank you, Autobahn GmbH, contractors, and local authorities for your collective efforts to construct the new bridges, boosting traffic routes and streamlining road safety in Hesse.

Keep an eye out for the latest updates from official sources to get the most recent intel on the project’s progress and completion date! Happy commuting! 🚫🌎
