"Every Year Again": Christmas Singing in the Baltic Sea Stadium - 8,000 voices unite for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s festive Christmas carol celebration

The annual Christmas singing event in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern returned earlier than usual this year. On Saturday, December 13, 2025, around 8,000 people gathered at Rostock’s Ostseestadion for a festive carol sing-along, the main event of the season. The celebration continued a week later with a theatrical performance in Eberswalde, marking another highlight of the Christmas season.

The first event took place at the Ostseestadion, where crowds filled the stands to join in with traditional carols. The Volkstheater’s opera choir, the Rostock Singakademie, and its youth choir led the singing, creating a lively atmosphere under the open sky.

The 2025 Christmas singing events brought together communities across Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. From the open-air stadium in Rostock to the theatrical setting in Eberswalde, the celebrations offered a mix of music and tradition. Organisers noted strong attendance, confirming the enduring popularity of these festive gatherings.
