Sizzling Success for 65th Nordic Film Days: Organizers Celebrate Thriving Attendance

After wrapping up nearly two weeks ago, the 65th Nordic Film Days are drawing optimistic reviews. Over 30,000 attendees were recorded in total, with around 25,000 ticketholders gracing physical venues and approximately 6,500 visitors accessing the digital video platform. This stellar attendance figure mirrors that of 2019, when the festivities lasted six days and attracted nearly 30,000 cinemagoers.

The renowned Nordic Film Days Lübeck continues to be Europe's largest stage for showcasing films hailing from Scandinavia and the Baltic States. The 66th edition is scheduled from November 6 to 10, 2024.

Enhancing accessibility was a key focus at this year's festival. Countless films with audio descriptions for the visually impaired and hearing-impaired versions with added sound descriptions joined the lineup. Deaf or hearing-impaired attendees also benefited from sign language interpreters at select film discussions, and the renowned film "Dancing Queen" in the 'Young Audience' section was fully subtitled.

The 65th Nordic Film Days showcased an extensive collection of movies, making it a significant celebration for Scandinavian and Baltic State cinematography. Movie aficionados can look forward to next year's event, from November 6 to 10, 2024.
