In a joint operation between customs officers from Frankfurt and Bielefeld, a staggering 50 kilograms of marijuana was seized from a haulage company within the Bielefeld area. On Tuesday, during the operation, customs found eight packages of marijuana. Two men, aged 45 and 27, were provisionally arrested on Wednesday in connection with the incident, as announced by the Frankfurt am Main customs investigation office and the Paderborn public prosecutor's office.

Subsequent searches in the Paderborn region yielded an additional 1.7 kilograms of marijuana and nearly 1,000 euros in cash. The two men were remanded in custody by a magistrate on Thursday as further investigations continue by the Frankfurt am Main customs investigation office on behalf of the Paderborn public prosecutor's office.
