40th District Shooting Championships Kick Off in Zeitlarn
The 40th district championships in air rifle and air pistol shooting began on September 22, 2025, in Zeitlarn. District Administrator Tanja Schweiger took on the patronage, welcoming local politicians and shooting masters. She thanked key figures, including Honorary Shooting Master Manfred Wimber and Wenzel Neumann, for organizing the first championship four decades ago.
The opening target was won by Sebastian Humbs, the 1st Shooting Master of the Shooting Society Freischuetz Zeitlarn. Later, Pentling's Mayor Barbara Wilhelm secured victory in the 'Politicians' target. Schweiger also expressed gratitude to her predecessor, former District Administrator Herbert Mirbeth, for his contributions. The championships continue until October 26, 2025, in the multipurpose hall in Zeitlarn, with the search for participating clubs ongoing.
Schweiger wished all participants fair and comradely competitions, always encouraging them with 'Good Shot'. A special 'Thank you' was extended to the 1st Section Shooting Master Daniela Schoen and her volunteers for organizing the anniversary championship. Timelarn's Mayor Andrea Dobsch praised the excellent youth work of the shooting clubs.
