300 Families Receive Thanksgiving Meals in Alexandria’s Record Food Drive
Housing Alexandria has delivered Thanksgiving meals to 300 families in need this year. The annual food drive, organized with the Henry Condominium Association, collected 15% more donations than last year. Each meal provided enough food to feed a family of four, totalling over 1,000 servings in all.
The meals were handed out in reusable tote bags, along with Harris Teeter gift cards. Housing Alexandria’s COO, Elisa Kendragon, shared her satisfaction in continuing the tradition of supporting residents during the Thanksgiving 2024 holiday.
The combined efforts of Housing Alexandria and ALIVE! have provided meals to hundreds of families this Thanksgiving 2024. With demand for food assistance rising, the organizations continue to rely on donations and community support. Further distributions are planned to help those affected by recent financial challenges.
