30 Cyclists Brave Rain for Inclusive Bike Tour 2018

A group of 30 cyclists from Nordhorn braved poor weather to join the 'Inclusive Bike Tour 2018' on September 22, 2018. The tour, organized under the motto 'Inclusion Needs Action', aims to raise awareness for people with disabilities and reduce prejudices. Nordhorn's mayor, Thomas Berling, joined the event, which was led by inclusion ambassadors Karl Grandt and Hans-Peter Durst.

The tour started mid-August and was planned to cover approximately 3000 kilometers, finishing in Flensburg on September 28. It was organized by Wolfgang Stöber from Nordhorn's disability council and Lambertus Arends from ADFC, with support from the city of Nordhorn and Grafschaft Bentheim district. Despite the rain, the cyclists pedaled to Wietmarschen, with the tour continuing towards Lingen and Dörpen. The day concluded at the Stiftscafé Menke where participants enjoyed a grill despite the autumn weather.

The 'Inclusive Bike Tour 2018' is part of a larger project aiming to create new connections between clubs and people with and without disabilities. By promoting inclusion and understanding, the tour seeks to challenge and reduce prejudices.

The 'Inclusive Bike Tour 2018' successfully completed its Nordhorn leg, demonstrating the power of community and determination in the face of adverse weather. With the support of local officials and organizations, the tour continues its journey across Germany, fostering inclusion and understanding.
