Got prepared for the big farewell of "Wetten, dass..." on ZDF? That's the question on everyone's lips, as per a recent online survey by YouGov. The results aren't exactly favorable for Thomas Gottschalk, the show's long-time host. Only 26% of the 4204 respondents are keen to catch his final performance on November 25, 8:15 PM. Even fewer, at 19%, plan on watching it live. Seven percent still want to watch, but at a time more convenient for them via ZDF's media library.
On the contrary, the majority of 64% will feel the absence of Gottschalk's farewell to "Wetten, dass..." after over 150 episodes. Eleven percent are undecided or haven't made up their minds yet.
As per the survey, Gottschalk seems to have a loyal fanbase, particularly among the middle-aged crowd. Twenty-five to thirty-four-year-olds (32%) and thirty-five to forty-four-year-olds (31%) are the most likely age groups to want to witness his final show in Offenburg. Moreover, men are more keen, with 29% planning to tune in, compared to 22% of women.
While 26% of Germans might plan on watching Thomas Gottschalk's final "Wetten, dass..." show on ZDF, the online survey provides insights into public sentiment towards the iconic show host and entertainment programs in general.
