2027 Prediction: PDP Affirms Ambition to Regain Control of Kaduna, Dismisses APC Government's Performance

Edward Percy Masha, the big cheese of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, has dropped a bombshell, declaring his party's intent to regain political supremacy in the state during the 2027 general elections.

In a ballsy move on a hump day, Masha dumped some hard truths about the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the folks' growing affection for the PDP. He pointed to the APC's dwindling popularity and the escalating discontent as signs of a major shift in public opinion.

Since stepping into the leadership role six moons ago, Masha's been preaching reconciliation, unity, and strengthening the grassroots base. He's been jawing with key movers and shakers, reportedly reestablishing the PDP as a force to be reckoned with and a shining beacon of hope for Kaduna's citizens.

Despite the exit of some party members to the APC, Masha doubled down on the PDP's focus and camaraderie. He sang the praises of the party's Reconciliation Committee, headed by Shuaibu Miqati, who's done a stellar job mending internal disputes, if you believe the grapevine.

"We're not messing around. We intend to defend our seats in the National Assembly, hold onto our three senatorial positions, and expand our reach at both the state and federal levels," he declared.

Masha didn't mince words when he skewered the APC-led administration of Governor Uba Sani. He slammed the latter's "Sustain Agenda" as a carbon copy of policies that have only deepened people's misery.

He cried foul over the government's failure to address security issues in several local government areas, including Kauru, Kaura, Zangon-Kataf, Kajuru, Lere, and Birnin Gwari. He vented his frustration about the struggling public services, underfunded hospitals, and crumbling rural infrastructure.

"Things ain't looking good. Workers are striking, hospitals are underfunded, and rural infrastructure is in tatters," he lamented.

Masha didn't stop there. He accused the state government of mismanaging finances and funneling public funds towards extravagant bashes associated with unfinished or nonexistent projects. In contrast, he highlighted the PDP lawmakers' efforts to improve people's lives through various empowerment programs.

Legally speaking, Masha revealed that the PDP is gunning for the removal of all 23 local government chairpersons and 255 councillors in the state, aiming for a court-ordered recovery of democratic governance at the local level.

"Change is in the air. The people of Kaduna want change, and the PDP is ready to deliver that transformation," he said.

"We'll keep these clowns in check and offer viable alternatives," he added.

Masha offered a warning shot to the APC, saying that any attempts to manipulate the elections would be met with fierce resistance. He urged PDP members and supporters to stay united and optimistic, assuring them that the PDP is prepared to guide Kaduna towards a brighter future.

Insight:

In Kaduna State, the APC, led by Governor Uba Sani, is focusing on financial inclusion and economic development to counter opposition narratives. The APC aims to open 3 million new bank accounts by 2025, with 2.5 million already opened, and attract foreign investment by showcasing Kaduna's economic potential at the 2025 Intra-African Trade Fair. The PDP, on the other hand, intends to capitalize on perceived governance gaps and emphasizes grassroots mobilization to regain power in 2027. The Governor's administration appears less focused on political restructuring and has yet to address efforts to remove local government chairpersons. The PDP's plans for local governance restructuring remain unclear.
