Rethink, Rank, and Reign: Ranked Choice Voting 101
With ranked choice voting, New Yorkers get to rank up to five candidates in order of preference instead of picking just one. This process is exclusive to primary elections and special elections.
According to NYC Votes, you can choose to vote for a single option if you wish, but ranking additional choices won't hurt your initial pick and gives your preference more weight in the final tally.
Mark your calendar for the general elections on November 4th, 2025.
