2025 General Election: Singapore Democratic Party Unveils Sembawang Town Blueprint, Advocates Abolition of Mayor Positions

🌟SINGAPORE'S DEMAND FOR CHANGE: The Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) went all out this weekend, setting their sights on Sembawang! On Saturday, they rolled out a powerful plan for the town, focusing on co-working spaces and residents' storage needs in void decks.

At an electrifying rally held at Evergreen Primary School, SDP's Sembawang Group Representation Constituency (GRC) candidate, Dr. James Gomez, unveiled the game plan for Sembawang, addressing the lingering issues that residents have been grappling with.

"In our book, the SDP way – or you can say it's the people's way – acknowledges that infrastructure alone, devoid of community or warmth, is meaningless," declared Dr. Gomez, emphasizing the significance of community involvement in any development plan.

"For us, a town is less about concrete and corridors and more about community, dignity, and shared purpose," he continued, painting a vivid picture of their vision for the area.

No less than eight speakers graced the rally, including SDP candidates from Sembawang and Marsiling-Yew Tee GRCs, party chairman Paul Tambyah, and party chief Chee Soon Juan.

The happening took place at Sembawang West SMC, where Dr. Chee is locked in a fierce battle against Peoples' Action Party (PAP)'s Ms. Poh Li San.

In their third rally within three days, Dr. Chee also took aim at recent comments made by Health Minister Ong Ye Kung and Ms. Poh regarding his move from Bukit Batok SMC to Sembawang West SMC. He extended an invitation for a Sunday morning breakfast meet-up to both PAP candidates, encouraging them to shift their focus back to the issues that truly concern voters.
