2023's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Nominees Unveiled

This year's electrifying 14-person roster boasts some true music icons:

Kate Bush Sheryl Crow Missy Elliott Iron Maiden/New Wave of British Heavy Metal Joy Division/New Order Cyndi Lauper George Michael Cowboy legend Willie Nelson Rage Against the Machine Synthpop pioneers Kraftwerk Deutsch-amerikanische Gruppe Spinning Top Spinning Wheel A Joint Venture named Quest red and white Stripes Warren Zevon

Eight acts make their debut on this prestigious list, with Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, George Michael, Willie Nelson, The White Stripes, and Warren Zevon all receiving the nod.

"This compelling nominations list echoes the diverse artists and music celebrating and honoring the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame," said John Sykes, Chair of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, in an official statement. "These artists have crafted something entirely their own, leaving indelible marks on generations and generations of artists who've followed in their footsteps."

To be considered for nomination, an artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. In 2023, Missy Elliott and The White Stripes made this list for the first time, according to Hall of Fame standards.

Fans can cast their votes online at vote.rockhall.com or in person at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland before April 28.

The selected nominees will be announced in May, with the induction ceremonies taking place in the autumn.
