Music Festival in the Sign of Finland with Over 14,500 Visitors - 2022 Usedomer Musikfestival Celebrates Finland, Matches Last Year's Attendance

The 2022 Usedomer Musikfestival concluded successfully with over 14,500 visitors, mirroring last year's attendance. The festival, held annually since 1994, focused on Finland this year, celebrating its music, culture, and traditions.

The festival opened with Finnish violinist Iidamari Ahonen performing Sibelius' violin concerto, earning her the Usedomer Musikpreis. Minister of Culture Bettina Martin, on behalf of Minister-President Manuela Schwesig, thanked the festival team for their efforts.

The event, held at the historic Peenemünde power plant, promoted peace and cultural neighborliness among Baltic countries. It featured Finnish tango, traditional and contemporary music, readings, and a mobile sauna at Ahlbeck beach, bringing a touch of Finland to the event. The festival closed with a performance by the YL Male Voice Choir from Helsinki.

The Usedomer Musikfestival, dedicated to fostering cultural connections among Baltic Sea countries, successfully highlighted Finland in 2022. With over 14,500 visitors, the festival continues to be a significant cultural event, matching last year's success.
