2,000 Men Set Record with Epic Kara Zhorga Dance at Nauryz

A record-breaking performance took place in Kökşetau during this year's Nauryz celebrations. Over 2,000 men gathered to perform the traditional Kara Zhorga dance, showcasing a vibrant display of cultural pride. The event highlighted the region's commitment to preserving its heritage.

The mass performance brought together a diverse group of participants. Elders, intellectuals, workers, servicemembers, athletes, and young people all joined in the dance. Officials from the Akmola Regional Administration described Kara Zhorga as an art form that captures the freedom of the steppe.

This was not the first time the region had set a cultural record. Earlier, 1,500 schoolchildren took part in a simultaneous *asyk* game, another traditional activity. Organisers emphasised the importance of reviving such customs and passing them on to future generations. The event carried deeper meaning beyond its scale. It served as a symbol of generational continuity and social unity, reinforcing the community's shared identity.

The performance in Kökşetau marked another milestone in Akmola's efforts to keep traditions alive. By involving people of all ages and backgrounds, the dance strengthened cultural ties. The region continues to promote its heritage through large-scale public events.
