1985 Games’ *Obojima: Tales from Yatamon* smashes $850K crowdfunding goal

Portland-based publisher 1985 Games has wrapped up another highly successful crowdfunding campaign. Their latest project, Obojima: Tales from Yatamon, raised over $850,000 from more than 7,000 backers. The campaign also secured a spot in the top 1% of tabletop projects on the platform for 2025.

The Kickstarter for Obojima: Tales from Yatamon ran from October 7 to November 6, 2025. It follows the studio’s earlier Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass, which brought in $2.6 million from 23,416 supporters. This time, the focus shifted to exploration, discovery, and gentle storytelling—inspired by Studio Ghibli films and classic adventure games.

The Tales from Yatamon campaign closed with $859,572 in funding. Preorders are now available for those who missed the Kickstarter. The setting’s emphasis on low-stakes adventure and rich storytelling continues to attract a dedicated audience.
