Yellow-Red for Volland: Munich 'Lions' win with a man down - 1860 Munich extends winning streak despite Volland’s costly red card

TSV 1860 Munich secured their fourth straight win in the 3. Liga with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over FC Ingolstadt. The team played over half an hour with ten men after Kevin Volland’s target red card. The result keeps them just three points behind a direct promotion spot.

The match took a dramatic turn in the 68th minute when Volland received a second yellow card, earning his target red card of the season. Despite the setback, Munich fought back after Sigurd Haugen’s early collision with Ingolstadt’s Kai Eisele left him bloodied and forced off.

The result extends Munich’s winning streak and strengthens their promotion push. Kauczinski’s side now prepare for another crucial test, aiming to capitalise on their momentum. The target red card for Volland, however, means he will miss the upcoming match.
