A 15-year-old tragically lost her life due to serotonin syndrome caused by ecstasy and amphetamine poisoning, as reported by the public prosecutor's office in Potsdam. This heartbreaking incident occurred back in June and left the community of Rathenow and beyond in shock.

The toxicology report revealed the presence of ecstasy at a concentration of 640 nanograms per milliliter, surpassing the toxic range of 350 to 500 nanograms per milliliter. The authorities also detected amphetamine at a concentration of 75 nanograms per milliliter, exceeding its toxic range of 200. The girl did not consume the "Blue Punisher" ecstasy variant, as per the spokeswoman. The public prosecutor's office continues to investigate the possibility of a young person supplying the girl with these substances.

The tragic event highlights the importance of educating young individuals about the hazards of drug abuse. Ecstasy and amphetamine are linked to various health problems and crimes, as evidenced by the statistics. While specific data on deaths due to these substances in teenagers isn't readily available, it's crucial to understand their risks.

Ecstasy, or MDMA, ranks fifth among substances used by American teenagers, with 372,500 users under 18. However, precise information on ecstasy-related deaths in this age group is lacking.
