12 Groundbreaking Startups Join SLAS Europe 2026's Innovation AveNEW Program

The Society of Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) has chosen 12 innovative life science startups for its Innovation AveNEW program. These companies will showcase their technologies at SLAS Europe 2026, held in Vienna from May 19 to 21. The selected firms represent six countries and focus on advancements in automation, robotics, and precision lab instruments.

The 12 startups were picked after a rigorous evaluation process. Judges assessed each applicant on technical excellence, commercial potential, and leadership strength. Criteria also included scientific innovation, market viability, and impact on laboratory automation.

The program supports participants with financial backing, covering exhibition fees, travel, and accommodation for one representative per company. Beyond funding, it offers tailored business consulting, mentorship, and promotional opportunities. Selected firms can also compete for the SLAS Ignite Award, which includes a €5,000 prize. In addition to mentorship and financial aid, the companies gain access to scientific publishing opportunities. Their work may appear in SLAS's peer-reviewed journals, *SLAS Discovery* and *SLAS Technology*. The initiative also encourages collaboration and knowledge-sharing among attendees at the Vienna event. This year's cohort includes startups from Germany, the USA, Australia, the UK, and other nations. Their technologies span automation robotics, chemical informatics, cell culture advancements, and precision lab tools.

The Innovation AveNEW program bridges scientific research with commercial development. Participating companies receive mentorship, funding, and exposure to industry leaders. The event in Vienna will highlight their contributions to laboratory automation and screening technologies.
