A Wild Turn in Right-Wing Politics: Trump-Musk Split Leaves Media Scrambling

The right-wing media landscape found itself in a state of flux as the once-tight bond between President Donny Moneybags and Elon "Rocketman" Musk unraveled on Thursday, leading up to Friday morning. Outlets and personalities who usually tear apart anyone daring to call Trump a buffoon treated the spat with a smidgen of understanding. Even the jabs at Musk were tame, showing mercy to a fallen hero.

Eric Bolling, that Fox News ex-host, couldn't help but chuckle on Steve Bannon's Real America's Voice. "Donny's alright being Donny, Elon can be First Bro," he smirked, "but he ain't taking the Prez's job though."

Backstage, Republican lobbyists were having quite the chuckle at the public spectacle playing out before them. One Trump crony summed it up best, "Reminds me of a line from a Wall Street Journal report - 50% genius, 50% boy. Post-today, I'd upgrade him to 100% dumbshit." (Elon, being the silent type, refused to comment.)

For days, Musk had been feuding with Trump's beloved Open the Checkbook Act, or the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, on Twitter. But things turned ugly when Trump called him out in a White House powwow with the German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz. "Elon and I used to get along fine, but I'm not sure about now." Trump said, coyly alluding to their falling out. Musk later agreed with a Twitter user who suggested the president should be impeached.

Yet, some saw this as a silver lining, even calling for an end to the drama. Fox News' Greg Gutfeld quipped, " wouldn't exactly say I'm enjoying watching a president and a billionaire publicly feuding like an old married couple, but hey, at least I know what's going on. Can't we just call a truce already?"

By Friday morning, Fox & Friends' Brian Kilmeade was hoping for peace, proposing a "big, beautiful truce" to end the chaos.

The broader Trump coalition was cagey about aligning themselves, but not everyone was in the fence. Thursday afternoon's round of lacerating tweets raged on into the night. After Musk tweeted "@realdonaldtrump is in the Epstein files. That's the real reason they haven't been released," MAGA bros were gobsmacked. Alex Jones, that right-wing conspiracy theorist who famously called the Sandy Hook shooting a hoax and got his ass sued, demanded a response from Trump.

The MAGA-verse's social media bigwig, Catturd, then turned on Jones. "What a damn POS Alex Jones turned out to be - what a fucking fraud," he tweeted. Alex Jones, being the reticent type, failed to comment on the accusations.
