Yesterday, the Russian military bombarded 13 communities along the border of the Sumy region, resulting in injuries to five civilians and causing devastation with grenade launchers, artillery, mortars, drones, and mines. The locations targeted include Sumy, Bezdryk, Verkhnya Syrovatka, Yunakivka, Khotin, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Krolevets, Esman, Druzhba, Seredyna-Buda, and Svesy. The numerous explosions totaled 186, and the conflict continues to terrorize the border communities.
Despite the ongoing war, the majority of Ukrainian businesspeople are optimistic about future economic growth. According to a survey conducted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine, 41% anticipate the same revenue levels in the future, while 55% plan to maintain the same number of employees. Strikingly, 33% of business leaders even expect to hire additional staff. This positive outlook on growth persists among Ukrainian entrepreneurs, despite predictions that the war will continue until 2025 by 40% of respondents, with an additional 24% expecting an end within the next year.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed responsibility for intercepting and neutralizing 33 drones originating from Ukraine in regions like Lipetsk, Rostov, and Volgograd earlier this week. Russian air defense systems successfully thwarted any attempts to reach their intended targets.
Germany's planned stationing of a permanent Bundeswehr brigade in Lithuania garnered praise from the Lithuanian Commander-in-Chief, General Valdemaras Rupšys. He emphasized Germany's decisiveness and leadership, stating that the country is providing crucial security, deterrence, and trust for Lithuania. Germany aims to deploy around 4,000 soldiers as a combat-ready, independently capable force in the nation.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba praised Chancellor Scholz's commitment to Ukraine during the recent EU summit. Kuleba highlighted Scholz's crucial role in removing Hungary's threat of a veto and expressed hope that this action would mark a permanent shift in Germany's support for leading complex issues.
Two more Ukrainian truck drivers tragically lost their lives in the ongoing protests at the Ukrainian-Polish border by Polish truck drivers who have blocked several crossings since early November. Protesters argue that Ukrainian drivers are undercutting Polish prices and seek the resurrection of a EU system that would require Ukrainian companies to obtain a permit to operate in the EU and grant European truck drivers permission to work in Ukraine.
